This is a 2 part program that takes you through the four by four process that Andrew Hoy has developed and used himself bringing success to his event horse training and competition riding A well presented and detailed step by step advice that any event rider will enjoy.

Part 1. Andrew rides two horses in this program, the super Swizzle and a novice Moonfleet. These horses had not competed at the time of the filming but went on to win Burghley and Badminton, so seeing them up close and personal and exactly how they were trained and how they went along the road to success is very helpful. Andrew works the horses on the flat and over jumps, show and cross country fences to demonstrate his four by four philosophy is constant throughout a horse's career from Novice to Advanced.

Part 2. Andrew now takes up the role of instructor and is joined by his wife Bettina, European champion. Together they assist two pupils who are in the novice stages of their eventing careers. Andrew also works with Bettina and her horse Unsung Hero, who is shown here as an intermediate eventer, and deals with related distances and narrow fences. Later both Andrew and Bettina tackle a myriad of cross country fences. Lots of great instruction and really get it straight advice. Highly recommended
