The Art Of Dressage in Academic Equitation from Cadre Noir master General Decarpentry A joy to read and some good ring exercises that are fresh.
991112
The study of dressage in Academic Equitation by the famous General Decarpentry is considered by many to be one of the most important books on the subject to be written in the 20th Century and though the Saumur Cadre Noir rider/trainer takes no credit for the ideas here - instead crediting D'Aure, Baucher and L'Hotte there is clearly the voice and knowledge of Decarpentry throughout. A very high quality production here from publisher Trafalgar this book was first published in 2001 in the United States. A must read for any student of dressage. The work is at times amusing, always very informative and brings direction back to the classical dressage which is sometimes lost in modern sport. The exercises described also bring back some fresh ideas and the work is one of my favorite books.

Piaffer passage to side reins and their correct use, secondary impulsion to lifting of the neck - lots of good stuff here. Discounted off cover price.
