A Search For Collection Science and Art in Riding Paul Belasik.

TheHorseStudio.com Copyrighted Review: Paul Belasik is on of the modern masters of our time and his works have always been a catalyst of conversation. In this book he focuses on the riders approach to training. Discarding the egos, allowing the horses to avoid the prehistoric notion of 24 hour stabling, establishing trust by approaching fearful issues in a logical manner and generally approaching everything equestrian with an eye to art and beauty and not force and coercion. Some great analogies here ( you can always rely on Paul Belasik to give you those) and some serious words of wisdom. You will learn the bio-mechanical attributes and aspects of true collection, the best way for trainers to improve but not dismissing other trainers methods or ideas. He further ascertains that just because a rider rides well he may not be a good trainer and that in fact the rider who is not as accomplished is often more cognizant of his own activities and biomechanics in the saddle and thus more able to pass them along. That's something we've heard before but I have to say the examples Paul gives are ones I've certainly noticed too. So - hope for all of us!! A good all around discussion with keen examples and helpful advice for the rider. Lots of quotes from other trainers and frank idea discussion. Loved it!

Hardcover. 128pp.
