TheHorseStudio.com review

With a foreword from the great Egon von Niendorff the book begins with a bang where Egon asks that Walter Zettl publishes the work in German too. A complete account from start to finish of all the patient means in which to train the horse. The rider is guided in his own position and technique throughout and the ultimate outcome of a happy and sound horse is kept very much front and center in the text. The diagrams are helpful to the student and the discussion is frank concerning difficulties that you might encounter during the training process. With his formative training beginning at age sixteen under Col. Aust, Walter Zettl has a wealth of experience in Germany as well as having trained Olympic riders since 1981 in Canada. Riders such as Eva Maria Pracht and the Canadian dressage team as a whole. Known for his quiet manner and unyielding patience with the horse, this book provides a clear cut route for the trainer who is not able to benefit from Mr. Zettl training in person.
