TheHorseStudio.com Review: Without question Kyra Kyrklund is one of my favorite trainers and the 'go to' for advice when I experience difficulties (or my horse does). Her system is consistent and logical and the emphasis on the two way communication between horse and rider is always in the forefront of the work. I have personally started over 25 young horses including warmbloods, baroques and percheron/warmblood crosses, and retrained palominos and thoroughbreds by just following her advice. ( I also have her set of DVDs also available here at TheHorseStudio.com and would also recommend them). Every horse has achieved his/her potential and is still progressing, and my riding has most certainly improved as has my understanding. There is a reason she is back on top of the sport again today! This is an ABC guide, and Kyra teaches you how to work with light aids with straightness, bend, flexion. Lots of help for the rider with the influences of position and aids, accuracy and timing. She take you from basics to canter pirouettes and passage/piaffe. Some neat advice in the first chapter on competition riding too. Jytte has provided an well written text here and there are lots of photos to direct and inspire you too. Highly Recommend both this book and the DVD set.
