You quickly learn how to assess both horse and rider for common mistakes that may creep in to even the best talent, and are guided precisely and with authority through the training of all the movements of classical dressage. As the horse matures and improves suppleness and his gymnastic strength, Kottas writes with a keen eye to the true classical approach for which the SRS is known. The photos are wonderful and his student here is also his daughter Caroline. Very good advice on piaffe and passage finish the story and the work is well written and lots of SRS pictures and details of Kottas riding are depicted throughout. A good production quality as we know to expect from this publisher with help from Julie Rowbotham of Woodcroft Stud, UK who has trained with Kottas for more than 15 years in Vienna, and Maggie Raynor illustrator for equestrian academic texts. Highly recommended.
