This is a very good book - full of helpful advice for the pony owner. Keeping your pony properly involved a different approach in many ways than horse keeping. The book is easy to read and appropriate for your child to read as well as you as the parent who might be owning a pony for the first time.

The text is easy language wise and there are nice drawings throughout the book that add an old time air/quality to the book, but the advice is up to date veterinary details on what to feed winter and summer, where to house the pony and what in, the daily routines e.g. let the pony eat in peace, area the pony needs to roam/graze, how to tail bandage for that show, how to care for the tack and equipment needed and much more. Much heartache can certainly be saved by reading this book...highly recommended.
