Do you hold the reins heavily in your hand? Have you tried bringing them through the thumb and index finger and reversing your rein hold? Magical results accrue when you are body aware as this writer certainly knows.

Do you know how to practice 'spook control' on your horse at home so you have a less exciting time at your first outing? Quite a wealth of info here, and and lots of sensible safety advice. Valuable read for every trainer. Just as I am sure Josephine's riding lessons are informative and easy to assimilate, so too will you find her writing. I would especially recommend it as a must read for the beginner trainer and the novice rider.
