Whether you ride alone or are a trainer that coaches a class of multiple riders and horses at once, this book is a super addictive 'game plan' with many neat exercises to help the rider and horse improve their collections and lengthenings, halts and rein-backs and enjoy the process by creating original patterns from beginner to advanced.

Transition work, riding in groups requiring accuracy and rhythm, helps fine tune the communication between rider and horse. The difficulty level is clearly illustrated and the instructions are step by step. Certainly this will revitalize even the most jaded rider with their flatwork. Warm up and cool down exercises are included too, and the book is in a handy spiral binding to ensure practical access while ringside.

Recommended for the Pony Clubbers and 4H riders, plus any quadrille team practices at intercollegiate level. There's even a one hour lesson plan to make the trainers life easier. Where I grew up riding in quadrille was required, and the lessons were always serious but also always fun. The horses seem to enjoy it as much as the riders, or maybe that's cause and effect!
