Beautifully digitally remastered this 2007 DVD release of Greg Best's Best Way to train yourself and your horse in the essentials for success is a great resource. Dish into the beginner ranks with ease, because there is plenty to delight the rider who wants to get into jumping and not sure where to start. The menu includes proper alignment and positioning of the rider, how to move your horse truly forward, working on transitions, giving directional aids, how to negotiate a jump from approach to departure, gymnastic exercises and some specific exercises just for the rider sans equine.

TheHorseStudio.com review: I've had the pleasure of watching Greg Best and the great Milton in action and his step by step teaching instruction is as unique as the horse Milton and his other stable mates. This is an excellent help for the starter rider in the jumping arena who wants to learn good basics. The oh so necessary flatwork is swiftly achieved and the initial stages of jumping presented. I have always been a Greg Best fan so it's no wonder that I enjoy his approach to his work and his spirit shines through as he inspires you to go further with your horse.

TheHorseStudio.com review: Another great technical advance in both the resource material here and the DVD format. Clear and concise, Greg directs a great performance here for the rider who aspires to work up through the levels. And hey - let's make that successfully. There is no-one quite like Greg to bring you the best demonstrations. A wry humor accents the material and you find yourself swept along through the topics. Those topics are:- Preparing hunters and jumpers with efficient flatwork; Seeing the distance ( oh do I need help here); Lines and Combinations; Striding. Then, because he knows it won't be long before you head in to competition, he covers topics of Riding the Jump Off ( oh I wish I could make that 1 x), and how to walk a course. I just wish the DVD were a bit longer. Though Greg's no nonsense approach certainly covers all the basics of intermediate jumping.

TheHorseStudio.com review: There isn't one topic here that hasn't happened to me in the ring at one time or another. Let alone at home. So it is good to get a handle on these problems BEFORE rather than after you hit the circuit. The problems we all need to know about and how to eradicate and deal with them are aptly covered by Greg here. Work on straightness, non-responsive horses, refusals, running out, rushing before fences and after a jump and bucking and rearing. Well if Greg best doesn't know about bucking horses in the ring I don't know who does. Some superb instruction here from the master himself. Classic stuff with great demos and advice. Certainly 65 minutes well spent.
