Equine Leg Work Leg Bandaging Techniques Diane Branham.
811151
Learn traditional leg bandaging methods for your horse. Techniques include the polo bandage, standing bandage, spider bandage, support bandage, pressure bandage. Also included is advice on how to properly apply a poultice and sweat and a special section on safety practices to utilize when working around horses. For the horse you don't wish to bandage there is also advice on open leg work including cold water and topical treatments.

TheHorseStudio.com review: This is a neatly produced informative DVD that provides answers to horse owners questions concerning the correct practices for leg wrapping and bandaging techniques. Using incredibly well mannered and patient horses, Diane takes you through each type of bandage application with clarity in a step by step method in calm and easy to listen to manner. I have been around horses for over forty years and have spent my share of time on bended knee wrapping horses legs, but I learned some new techniques here. A well rounded production that will be invaluable to vet students and horse owners/grooms everywhere. As Diane says, you need to practice to get it right. But importantly knowing 'the right way to do it' will improve the positive benefits of leg wrapping while minimizing damage that can be caused by a lack of knowledge. We look forward to her next DVD in this series! Advice here that every true horseman should know for the sake of his horse!

Duration 1 hr. 8 minutes. NTSC North America/Canada format.

Diane Branham is an equine professional from Glade Park, Colorado.  She grew up riding and showing horses in rural Michigan and in 1990 graduated from Michigan State University’s Horse Management Program.  While studying at M.S.U., she focused on equine reproduction and later became broodmare manager for Redbob Farms, in Oxford, Michigan and more recently for the famed 505 Farm in Lexington, Kentucky.  During her stay at 505 Farm, she had the opportunity to work with many great veterinarians, mentors and also a large volume of horses.   She currently, together with her family, owns and operates Bieser Creek Cattle.  The operation manages around 650 Angus cross cattle over about 100,000 majestic acres in Glade Park, Colorado.  Diane credits RFD-TV with providing the tools to achieve a ‘higher education’ in horsemanship and is working towards having her own show on the channel.
