TheHorseStudio.com review: This is Part 2 in the horse patterns series designed to aid both the competitor, trainer and intern judge on the principle attributes required for pattern riding and how it should be correctly judged. Once again as in Part 1 four premier judges (including the renowned and highly respected Dr. David J. Denniston ), give each of the competitors a thorough review and explain the strengths and weaknesses of their performances. I found this DVD informative and helpful and the judges explained the scoring well so I was able to clearly see how to improve my ride for a better result. The horses and riders used were of various levels and characteristics. Within a few lessons I was soon able to critique fairly accurately on the rides. It's a fun training aid to sit down and watch with friends and to each score each ride to compete and see who is right with the outcome. The interactive factor was certainly fun. I can see this DVD being especially useful for 4H leaders and college trainers who wish to share with their students the fundamental requirements for successful showing. The judges all have good credentials and their critiques were frank and constructive without being harsh or unkind. Another trait we all appreciate in our judges! A neat learning tool and good value with an easy interactive format that everyone will appreciate. Plus we all learn better when we interact.
