TheHorseStudio.com review: I'm actually a bit surprised that no-one thought of producing this type of DVD before. What a boon for the trainer and student. It's especially useful if you work a lot alone, and find yourself mesmerized to the outside track in a training situation. 'Keep off the wall," by trainer used to tell me, yet naturally my horse gravitated there and no amount of riding around the track would ever develop straightness ( as I eventually came to appreciate). So here Leslie Webb has devised a clever series of DVDs that give you lessons from training level to third level. This particular volume 3 being the most advanced of the series. Watch Leslie and her students demonstrate ( very aptly I might add) the best way to work counter canter to achieve optimal balance and evenness of your horse in both reins, and increase the engagement of the hindquarters and improve the elastic impulsion that you will require of your equine partner as you head up the levels an into that wonderful world of collection.

The exercises are classical and could be read elsewhere but what is unique here is the advice from Leslie that buzzes in your ear as you ride the patterns, thanks to her charming method of pointing out the dos and don'ts. In your brain you find you easily remember the step by step keys and the keen areas to watch over for the most productive execution. Expect some moments of bliss. Really helpful stuff here.
