Poor Johnny loses his mother and is sent to stay with his grandfather, whom he barely know. Grandpa develops a plan for bonding with his grandson and takes his mind of their sad loss, when they set out together to tame a wild stallion. The process is full of adventure and upset, highs and lows. During which time the young man learns to appreciate the wisdom and knowledge of his grandpa. The eventual outcome when Johnny learns of his grandfather's dark secret brings a neat twist to the ending and Johnny is forced to make one of the most painful decisions of his life.
