The story is engaging and the watching horses steam around the track with Dan Patch always racing effectively against his own times, he was that fast - is a thrill. The human triangle that develops between the horse owner ( Dennis O'Keefe) , his wife ( Ruth Warrick) and his growing interest in Cissy (Gail Russell), is well told and well crafted. A great look back at one of the most stellar harness racers of history whose legend lives on.
