Spring Fever. Oil on Canvas. Unframed. Artist: Nikki Alvin-Smith
690015A
| "This work was inspired by a Hanoverian colt springing into action showing his powerful and expressive gaits and uphill movement. The large mountain pasture with newly arrived Spring flowers and clean air were a beautiful place to visit and the perfect place for this colt to grow up and build his bone strength. If you look closely at the left hip you'll see the Hanoverian brand of two horse heads in a H shape, indicative of the German Hanoverian Verband breeding.

This items ships unframed and is 8wide x 11.5 inches high. Please note all art work is non returnable for any reason.

Artist Bio: Nikki Alvin-Smith

"I'm thrilled to be able to offer my works on equestrian life and foreign vistas to a broader audience as time progresses. I studied art literally at the knee of my mother, who has worked with celebrated internationally renowned artists throughout her career. There was always the aroma of turpentine and paint permeating the house growing up dinner was definitely on hold while paintings were concluded while the invaluable 'light' was still present. It was her influence that recently gave me the push to take my work into the broader marketplace, and I am very grateful for her support," states Nikki Alvin-Smith.

Nikki Alvin-Smith has been published internationally as a writer in both fiction and non-fiction. In the non-fiction category for such publications as The Chronicle of The Horse, The Horseman's Yankee Pedlar, The Equine Journal, Horses Canada and many more plus some publications that didn't survive such as the revered Dressage and CT. As a photographer her works have graced the covers of numerous magazines, commercial product advertisements in fields such as rural life and equestrian lines and have been used for stallion promotions.

" I love working with horses and have been a passionate horsewoman since age ten.. My artwork includes multi-disciplines as I began riding donkeys, went on to Welsh ponies, then worked for a while schooling big bouncy horses for a professional show jumper. In the last twenty five years I have been involved in breeding horses of many breeds, training and competing through Grand Prix level dressage on the European tour and growing up a family of enthusiastic horse lovers. My fine art work is mainly in oil because I love the true to life colors that oil paints produce. I have been fortunate to travel widely since a very young age and my work consequently includes highlights from many different countries. I love to capture the relationship factor between horse and human as well as the exuberance of horses, " says Nikki.
