A lovely documentary here of the history and battle of survival of one of the oldest recorded domesticated breeds, The Lipizzan. There is some super wartime footage of their evacuation and equestrian expert commentary on the breed.

World renowned for their exhibitions in Vienna, Austria at the Spanish Riding School, this noble breed is shown here in all it's glory. A very rich heritage is detailed from their origin and birthplace at Lipizza, Slovenia to the modern day School in Vienna. The DVD shows this breed of horse at work and at play, and there is some super cinematography.

One of my favorite breeds, I was fortunate enough to have ridden not only Lipizzans but to have had the opportunity to work as a young student in the SRS facility at the palace in Vienna, and later to visit Piber and see the youngsters at play. The Lipizzan is truly a gallant horse, with a big heart and lots of energy. This is a good documentary that brings education and delight. Recommended.
