John Winnett provides a detailed analysis of a training program that is designed and proven to take a horse to the highest level. John shares nuances and training tips for success in the show ring as well as sharing his knowledge of the German Training system which he has extensively studied. His good friends Ruth and Reiner Klimke guided him through good horse purchases and while in Germany he was pleased to discover that the German system was based on Guereniere, the master to whom his training as a young boy in France was also based. Having made many Grand Prix horses and attained success at the highest levels, John brings a thoughtful presentation of ideas and training methods - good help here for any dressage rider. John grew up in Paris and began his education in French School of Equitation and Showjumping, before studying extensively the German system. An interesting perspective. Good read, from the start of his affinity and love of horses under the tutorage of a Saumur teacher, to his Olympic and Pan Am Games successes, John generously shared his experiences.
